As a fraternal benefit society, Providence Association “Провидіння” was formed in the early 1900’s, specifically to offer support to Catholic Ukrainians. These were immigrants, who were in the process of building a new life in a new world. Bishop Soter Ortynsky truly cared about preparing our people to succeed. Along with many other projects, he took the initiative to create a reliable source for saving for a bright future in the United States, and insuring security for their dependents.
Today, We hope Bishop Soter is smiling down on us, because Providence continues to be a reliable source of retirement savings, and life insurance products, for our Ukrainian Community and many others. Because we are a non-profit organization, any earnings from products, benefits the member, and a part goes to charitable causes. Our members are our most important asset. It is the rule of large numbers, and as we grow and build our membership, we become stronger together, to do great things.

What is a Fraternal Society?
Fraternal Societies are non-profit organizations that engage in numerous activities of a social, educational and charitable nature. They operate under the lodge system, and that they provide for the payment of life, sick, accident or other benefits, or that they establish a separate entity which provides such benefits, only for members of their organization.
We are an active part in our community through charitable, social, civic, cultural, and other eleemosynary activities.
- Capital Improvement programs have aided in contruction of over 175 buildings, including: churches, schools, convents and monasteries.
- In the past 10 years, we have donated over 200,000 to Ukrainian Churches, other religious causes, as well as various community and charitable causes.
- We are proud to annually award thousands of dollars in scholarships to our members.
- Most importantly, we regularly pay benefits to our members.
