Holodomor – Ukrainian Genocide

From the Stated Meeting of Philadelphia City Council held Thursday, October 18, 2018: Councilman Mark Squilla (1st District) led a presentation recognizing the 85th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Genocide of 1932-1933

A truly proud moment for our own Vice President, Halyna Dubil and Director of Life Insurance and Annuity Planning, Eugene Luciw, who attended this historic meeting.

“Philadelphia’s (The Cradle of Liberty’s) City Council unanimously passed a Resolution recognizing the Holodomor of 1932-33 as an artificial famine-genocide that the USSR perpetrated against Ukraine and its people. Councilman Mark Squilla (1st District) presented the Resolution “Recognizing the 85th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Genocide”. Mayor Kenney followed suit with a Proclamation that parallels the Resolution,” said Eugene Luciw about this important occasion.

As Ukrainians, we are proud of our roots.   So much Ukrainian history has been kept secret, and even today there is still much to be uncovered. We are living during a time of unlimited information, yet many people still do not know the facts behind this genocide.  It is important that we bring the truth to everyone.  We are grateful for this unanimous Resolution which brings our history closer to the truth.
